The Novgorod regional administration has plans by 2012 to open the new Krechevitsy civilian airport using the premises and some infrastructure of the existing military aerodrome bearing the same name, Governor Sergei Mitin announced.
According to the governor, the cost of the project has been estimated to be around $50m.
A passenger terminal may reportedly begin construction later in the year.
