The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is pleased to announce the annual Russia & CIS IPO conference which will be held in Moscow on 5-6 June 2013.
The interest in Russian and CIS equities among British and international investors in London has been steadily recovering after the 2008 financial crisis. In 2012, Russian and CIS companies raised over $8.6 billion on the LSE. Overall, there were Russian IPOs and SPOs from five different sectors – Healthcare (MD Medical Group – $311m), Telecommunications (MegaFon - $1.83bn; Kcell - $525m), Transport (GlobalTrans SPO - $520m), Banking (Sberbank - $5.2bn) and Oil & Gas (RusPetro - $250m).
These listings clearly show that there is an increasing amount of post-crisis international investment in a wide range of sectors of the Russian economy via LSE-listed equities. Crucially, this demonstrates that there is a broad level of foreign institutional investor support for the Russian economy outside of the natural resources space. Diversification of the Russian economy is a key theme for 2013 with potential IPOs in the Transport, E-commerce and Banking sectors. This year’s conference aims to take a deeper look at not only the “traditional” oil & gas and mining industries, but also the fast-growing e-commerce and technology sector.
The complimentary IPO workshops for potential issuers will take place on Wednesday 5 June at Ernst & Young offices at Sadovnicheskaya Nab., 77, bld.1. The aim is to provide practical advice on the IPO process to the companies that plan to list in London in the next 12-24 months. After the workshops, companies will be invited to the Summer Drinks reception hosted by Ernst & Young.
Companies, advisers and investors are invited to attend the main conference day on Thursday 6 June at the Lotte Hotel, Novinsky Boulevard 8, bld. 2. The conference will provide an outlook on the London capital markets, ways to raise international capital, sector trends, valuation, success stories and more. The event is expected to attract over 150 representatives from companies, advisory firms and investment funds.
