National post operator Russian Post has announced plans to invest $52m building an automated sorting center in Nizhny Novgorod region.
The 14,000-square-meter building is reportedly to be located on a 50,000-square-meter land site in the industrial zone of the town of Dzerzhinsk.
Under plans, the center, with projected daily capacity of 350,000 letters and 100,000 parcels, is to process mail from Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as the Republic of Chuvashia and Mordovia.
The center is to create 600 new local jobs, the firm said.
Construction of the complex is scheduled to start in 2012 and be completed in 2014.
