Republic of Bashkortostan-based Ufa International Airport has announced plans to invest $1bn in its development in the next ten years.
The project is reportedly to be financed from the federal and regional budgets, as well as by private investors.
Under plans, as a result of the investment, by 2010 the airport’s capacity is to increase from 600 to 800 passengers per hour on domestic flights and from 200 to 500 passengers per hour on international flights.
Specifically, under modernization plan, in 2013 the airport is to build a new $32m international terminal.
