Yamaltransstroy and Mostrostroy-12 have been selected the contractors for construction of a rail track between Salekhard and Nadym in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, news agency RIA Novosti reports.
The contract price and total investment in the project has yet to be disclosed.
Under the contract, Yamaltransstroy is to build the track between Salekhard Station and Polyapta Junction, while Mostostroy-12 is to build the track from the Right Bank of the Nadym River to Khorey Junction.
Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2010 and last 3.5 years.
The rail track is being built under Ural Promyshlenny – Ural Polyarny (UP – UP, Urals Industrial – Urals Polar) mega-project to develop raw materials extraction in the region. The main shareholders in the UP – UP corporation are three RF regions – Tyumen region, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
