Khanty-Mansiysk district eyes $340m toll road

A $340m toll-road and bridge is to be built in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, officials report.

The project is reportedly to be carried out under private-public partnership by regional government and six road building firms – Khanty-Mansiyskdorstroy, MTS, Mostostroy-11, SKU, Tyumenstalmost and Kurganstalmost.

Under the project, the 42-kilometer toll road between the cities of Surgut and Nefteyugansk, as well as the toll bridge over the Ob river, are to be built in the district.

Average monthly traffic is estimated at about 15,000 cars per day during busy summer periods.

Timeframes for the project have yet to be announced.
