North-Caucasus Railways invested $37m in railroad to Sochi airport

Interregional rail operator North-Caucasus Railways invested a total of $36.9m in the project to build railroad traffic Sochi – Adler – Sochi Airport in 2009, the company reports.

The projected 2.7-kilometer railroad is reportedly to have projected traffic capacity of 64,000 passengers daily.

Under the project, the railway is to have two tunnels with total length of 505 meters and three overhead bridges with total length of 800 meters.

North-Caucasus Railways is a part of national rail operator Russian Railways.
