Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport’s turnover down 11.2% y/y

7 Jul '09
The Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport served 266,000 passengers in the first half of this year, including 40,000 on international flights, the airport announced today.

It is a reported 11.2% drop on a year-on-year basis.

According to a source at Sakhalin’s main airport, passenger turnover was down because three major players, Domodedovo Airlines, KrasAir and Dalavia, had left the regional market. This was exacerbated by the ongoing crisis, the source added.
