First Freight’s cement shipments to Sakhalin kicked off

2 Apr '09
First Freight Company has started rail shipments of cement to Sakhalin, the firm said today.

The first batch has been reportedly delivered by three cement carriages from the Tyoploye Ozero station in Evreiskaya Autonomous Region to the port of Vanino in Khabarovsk Region and further on to Sakhalin.

“Three cement carriages is nothing but a start that, however, heralds our full-fledged participation in large construction projects on Sakhalin,” said Viktor Osipov, the CEO of First Freight Company’s Vladivostok office.

No cost of shipment has been disclosed.

First Freight Company is a subsidiary of national rail operator Russian Railways.
