The project to equip school buses with GLONASS equipment has been completed in Ryazan region, NanoNewsNet reports citing M2M Telematica Ryazan, the regional partner of the M2M Telematica group of companies.

As a result of the project, navigation equipment GLONASS was installed at all 312 school buses in the city of Ryazan and Ryazan region.

The main goal of implementation of GLONASS technologies is to increase safety of transportation of school students through continuous control of movement of transport vehicles and shorter reaction time in case of emergency.

GLONASS-equipment, installed in the buses, allows to control buses along the routes and following speed regulations by the drivers, in real time mode. Responsible officers can control current location and condition of each bys, as well as a number and mileage of its drives. The navigation-communication equipment set includes two-side speaker communication and an alarm button.

For control purposes information on movement of school transport in real time mode is transmitted to the department of state auto road supervision of Ryazan region, the ministry of transport and auto roads of Ryazan region, the department of education of municipal districts of Ryazan region. Under plans, in the nearest future navigation information will be additionally provided to all educational institutions that have school buses, equipped with GLONASS-equipment and used for transporting students to their schools, as well as ministries of emergency situations of Russia and Ryazan region.

As of today, GLONASS equipment has been installed at school transport in Altay region, Volgograd, Kostroma and Kostroma region, Republic of Chuvashia, Vologda region, Kaluga region and many other regions in the Russian Federation.
