A total of $399m is to be spent on development of two tourism clusters in Altay region – Belokurikha-2 and Zolotye Vorota (Golden Gates) – in 2011-2016, news agency RIA Novosti reports.

Specifically, the Belokurikha-2 project is reportedly to get $342m, including $82m federal finance and $260m to be raised from the regional budget and private investors.

Under the project, Belokurikha-2 sanatorium and resort complex is to be located near a famous balneological resort Belokurikha, close to the new thermal nitrogen-silicate radon-containing waters.

Another $57m is to be spent on development of the Golden Gates cluster. Of the total finance, $12.5m is to be allocated from the federal budget, and the remaining funds are to be assigned from the regional budget and private investors.

Under plans, the Golden Gates cluster is to be kitted out with equipped camping sites, road service complexes, retail shops and cafes, health complex, tourist information and logistics center.
