Global tech expertise comes to Nizhny Novgorod’s IT aficionados on HackDay
20 Mar '13
The Mikhail Kechinov Web Development Studio announced earlier this week that it is bringing on April 12-14 to Nizhny Novgorod, in the mid-Volga, its 25th HackDay. The Nizhny Innovation Business Incubator (NIBI) will host an event that the Studio organizes from region to region for local tech innovators to pitch their project ideas, bring on board like-minded people to form a project team, participate in a training program, and get one-on-one consultations from Russian and American experts in project development and high tech entrepreneurship.
At a closing session, the participants will also be able to make an extended project presentation to a wide audience of peers, investors, and market gurus.
Nizhny Novgorod, some 440km east of Moscow, is “by right one of Russia’s IT hubs,” the organizers believe, emphasizing that the city has “an active community of technical specialists.” However, the Studio thinks that in Nizhny, “the start-up community is yet underdeveloped.” The Volga city’s relative proximity to Moscow and its large number of resident programmers are expected to enable the organizers to “bring to HackDay#25 strong ideas and talented developers.”
The event welcomes programmers, managers, designers, interface developers, market specialists, PR managers and all others who have an Internet project idea but no team to make it happen.
As part of the HackDay#25 program, Intel is expected to run a competition for participants willing to develop an app for Ultrabook™ based on Intel processors and tapping into touch technologies. Intel’s technical specialists will hold master-classes to help participants apply the new technologies in their apps.
