International Medical School Europe will be opened in the Republic of Tatarstan, NanoNewsNet reports.
The project was reportedly discussed by Ayrat Farrakhov, the regional minister of healthcare, Elena Malysheva, MD and the hostess of a TV show on health issues, Prof. Victor Grigorovich, Albert Gilmutdinov, the regional minister of education, and Boris Mendelevich, the head of the sports and healthcare department at the Tatarstan Cabinet.
Under plans, the school will have Russian and foreign students. Upon graduation, the students will receive international diplomas.
The training will be carried out in two stages both in Russia and abroad; many disciplines will be taught abroad. Classes will be conducted in English by Russian and foreign specialists. To be enrolled candidates will have to pass a special exam to demonstrate knowledge acquired over previous two-year education at Russian medical universities.
“It is a pilot project. If foreign teachers and students come here they will contribute to the development of our region. We will do our best for the school to start working in the nearest future,” Mr. Farrakhov said.
