EnergyCity system launched in Saransk

The system EnergoGorod (EnergyCity), which is the single center of metering and analysis of all types of energy resources in the city, has been launched in the city of Saransk, Republic of Mordovia, reports citing regional officials.
According to the Ministry of Housing and Utilities and Civil Protection of Population of the Republic of Mordovia, the regional capital Saransk has become the ground for testing a brand new model and mechanism of relations with suppliers of energy resources and development of recommendations in the sector of consumption management at the municipal level.
Automated system “EnergyCity” includes all house and apartment meter devices. As of now, about 1,000 apartment blocks in Saransk were connected to the single center of metering and analysis of energy resources. Under plans, a total of 2,360 apartment buildings, serviced by 39 management companies, will be connected to the system. The system is scheduled to be fully implemented in 2012.
“EnergoCity” will result in payment for energy resources according to factual consumption based on automated commercial metering with minimum influence of the human factor, lower expenses of residents on payments for low-quality services due to control of parameters of energy resources supply. The system EnergyCity helps to significantly lower time of eliminating accidents due to efficient monitoring of emergency situations based on automated metering data and timely informing of emergency services.
According to the Ministry of Housing Utilities and Civil Protection of Population of the Republic of Mordovia, realization of the project will help to form the single information space in the city, legal relations between suppliers and consumers of energy resources, lower energy losses and decrease payment fees.
