A unique science and innovation youth resource – the Center for Forming Innovation Competencies and Commercialization of Technologies – was set up in the Republic of Udmurtia in late 2011, reports citing the Izhevsk State Technical University.
The innovation center initiators are the representative office of the Fund for Assisting Small Innovation Enterprises (FASIE) in the Republic of Udmurtia, and the Council of young scientists and specialists of the Izhevsk State Technical University.
According to Konstantin Shirobokov, the head of the FASIE’s rep office in Udmurtia, the chairman of the board of the council of young scientists and specialists of the Izhevsk State Technical University, the Center for Forming Innovation Competencies and Commercialization of Technologies has been created in order to increase efficiency of innovation politics in the region and to raise interest of undergraduate and graduate students, young scientists and specialists to science.
The Center includes the technopark of small and medium innovation companies and the youth business-incubator. The technopark is presented by the association of small innovation companies that have received state support under various programs, including the START program.
As of today, the association includes nine companies – Electroprivod, AT, IVPPM, Komplekt, Biogas Technologies, Technograd, Ikar, Mechanic, Market. The companies are engaged in development of market-oriented products in the sector of scientific production. The center serves for promotion of innovation ideas of undergrad and grad students and representatives of small innovation business.
