Russian company to install temperature measuring terminals in domestic and American schools

10 Sep '20
Perm company Promobot plans to equip 150 Russian and a number of American schools with terminals with non-contact body temperature measurement technology by the end of 2020.

The Termokontrol terminals are devices with a video camera, a remote thermometer and a touch screen. They work autonomously, without human assistance. According to the developers, the device measures the temperature in about 5 seconds with an accuracy of 0.2 degrees.

In the basic version, notifications and temperature measurement results appear on the screen. In a more complex version, a face recognition system works, which can be integrated with security systems and restrict access to the building for potential carriers of the virus.

According to Kivokurtsev, Termokontrol terminals are already operating in several cities in Russia and the United States. By the end of the year, the company plans to increase their number: equip 150 Russian schools with terminals and send at least 200 devices to the United States.

Promobot was founded in 2015 in Perm. Promobot manufactures autonomous service robots and supplies them to the markets of Russia, Northern and Eastern Europe. The company's robots are used as administrators, promoters, consultants, tour guides and concierges.
