Astrakhan companies AstLec and Security Stronghold have received statuses of Skolkovo innovation center participants, website of the Commission for modernization and technological development of economy of Russia i-russia.ru reports citing the ministry of economic development of Astrakhan region.

Security Stronghold received Skolkovo residency for its software product – an antivirus system Smart UAC. The company was registered in the cluster of computer and information technologies of Skolkovo.

AstLec, created by the Astrakhan State University, developed new medicine based on nano-particles for treating diabetic foot. The company was included into the cluster of biomedical technologies of the innovative complex.

Earlier it was reported that the expert collegium of the Skolkovo innovation center had agreed to give residency status to Astrakhan company Agent Plus. The company presented a software product, which will become an instrument and basis for creating mobile business-applications.

Under the agreement between Government of Astrakhan region and the Skolkovo Fund, a total of 9 innovative projects have applied for residency status of the Skolkovo innovation center.

Earlier this week Marchmont wrote that Skolkovo registered 29 new residents, bringing total number of participants to 203.

The Skolkovo innovations center is to become the largest testing landfill of the new economic policy in Russia. The specially allocated territory outside the Moscow city is to provide special conditions for R&D in the sectors of energy and energy efficient technologies, nuclear, space, biomedical and computer technologies.

The Skolkovo innovation center has the following five clusters: the Cluster of Biomedical Technologies, the Cluster of Information and Computer Technologies, the Cluster of Space Technologies and Telecommunications, the Cluster of Energy Efficient Technologies, the Cluster of Nuclear Technologies.
