Sokol Invest builds $8.6m cable plant in Berdsk

Moscow firm Sokol Invest has launched an $8.6m plant to produce fiber-optic cables in the town of Berdsk, Novosibirsk region, regional officials report.

The plants projected annual capacity is 25,000 kilometers of cable.

The plant is reportedly equipped with a workshop to produce fiber-optic cable, laboratory, warehouses for produced goods and raw materials, auxiliary production facilities, as well as offices.

Construction was started in August 2007.
