Biopharmaceutical company BIOCAD intends to build a full-cycle pharmaceutical complex in Noidorf special economic zone in St. Petersburg, RusNanoNet reports.

The project gets support from state corporation Vnesheconombank and St. Petersburg Government.

Total investment in the project is estimated at $83m, including $33m finance from Vnesheconombank. Part of the project – construction of a complex to produce substances and medicines based on monoclonal anti-bodies – is financed from the federal budget.

Under the project, the company will build a full-cycle complex to develop, produce and distribute chemical and biological medicines that meet international GMP standards.

Under plans, produce range will include medicines used in oncology, hematology, neurology, virus infections. The complex will itself make substances for produced medicines. This will lower cost of final products for end consumers.

The complex will also have its own science and research laboratory that will serve as a base for developing innovative medicines.

The complex is scheduled to start operations in 2015 and reach its projected capacity in 2018.

Russian biotechnological company BIOCAD, founded in 2001, is a full-cycle structure with science-research and production facilities. The company has the science and research Center of Engineering Immunology in the village of Lyubuchany in Chekhov district of Moscow region and a medicine and substance production plant in the village of Petrovo-Dalnee in Krasnogorsky district of Moscow region.
