Far East pioneers new federal VR/AR masterís university program

In September 2017 the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) is pioneering Russiaís new masterís degree program in augmented and virtual reality Game Development & VR, the Vladivostok-based university announced.

The program is part of what Russiaís Agency for Strategic Initiatives is touting as ďCyber Russia,Ē this countryís educational and acceleration program aimed at training specialists and fostering start-up development in virtual/augmented/mixed reality enhanced gaming and blockchain technology. By 2020, the developer hopes at least 10,000 people across Russia will be involved in the initiative, and at least 25 new start-ups will have been launched as viable projects.

Students are expected to learn how to develop and commercialize advanced software in a range of applications.
