Authorities in Magadan region have announced a contest of scientific-research projects of undergraduate students, postgraduate students and young scientists “Innovation”, news site reports.
The contest is carried out under the regional program “Innovation Development of Magadan Region in 2009-2013”.
The contest is aimed at discovering innovative potential of the region, recognition of the most talented representatives of young generation for their successes in development and promotion of innovative projects.
The winners of the contest are to receive $1,000 money prizes. The second-prize winners are to get $655 bonuses, and the third-prize winners are to be given $325 each.
According to administration, the contest goals are: to support growth of innovation activity attractiveness for the youth; to support formation of favorable public opinion of innovation potential of Magadan region; to demonstrate the level of youth achievements in innovative sector; to demonstrate infrastructure, industrial potential and investment capacities of Magadan region.
The contest aim is to select and recognize talented youth for achieving high results in development and promotion of innovative projects.
The participants can submit their applications to the department of innovative policy of the Administration of Magadan region. The deadline for submitting bids is October 15, 2011.
In July 2011 the news site wrote, citing the report by Galina Golobokova, the head of the department of innovative policy of the Administration of Magadan region, that the level of innovative activity in the region in 2010 had grown to 34%. Patent activity had also grown: in 2010 eight patent applications were submitted, including six patents for inventions, one – for a useful model and one – for industrial model.
