9 Sep '20
SME Bank provided financing to expand production of Copter Express Technologies, which specializes in the creation of unmanned aerial vehicles.

The loan at the rate of 8.5% for 3 years within the framework of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade's subsidy program is guaranteed by the SME Corporation, the bank said. The company will use the funds received to increase the production of innovative COEX drones.
“At present, interest in quadcopters is growing, their scope of application is expanding, and the demand for them is increasing every year. In 2018, we produced about 1,300 aircraft, in 2019 - more than 2,000. In 2020, we plan to reach the level of 3000 devices”, - quoted in the message the words of Oleg Ponfilenko, General Director of Copter Express Technologies.
This company is a member of the Skolkovo project with 2016, implementing a project to develop a line of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for various applications - from educational programs to specific industrial applications, Alexey Razumovsky, COO of the cluster of advanced production technologies, nuclear and space technologies of the Skolkovo Foundation, told Sk.ru. At the end of 2016, the company was supported by a mini-grant of the Fund (5 million rubles) in the development of an intelligent flight control system for the educational designer of the programmable quadrocopter Clover (a brand owned by the company).
“The small UAV market has grown significantly over the past few years and continues to grow; At the same time, the Russian Federation does not yet have a well-developed educational and methodological complex on unmanned aviation, which is a significant limitation for the development of educational programs in schools, colleges and universities in a new demanded specialty. The project, supported by a grant from the Foundation and successfully implemented by the company at the end of 2017, was aimed precisely at bridging the specified gap - the creation of a full-fledged modular designer of a programmable unmanned aircraft system for teaching the design, piloting and programming of UAVs, - A. Razumovsky clarified. - Since 2017, when the first positive financial results were obtained, the company has been demonstrating successful business development: over the past two years, the company's annual revenue has exceeded 100 million rubles, and the company's products are supplied incl. to foreign markets (UAE, Singapore, USA)”.

“The cooperation launched in 2019 between the Skolkovo Foundation, the SME Corporation and the SME Bank in order to support innovative Skolkovo member companies, primarily in terms of their lending from the Bank with appropriate guarantee support from the Corporation, has its concrete results - The bank's credit support to Copter Express Technologies will allow the company to significantly increase its production capacity and reach a new level of business, multiplying its sales,” the cluster's operational director is confident.
