Mail.ru backs Skolkovo start-ups

Leg One of the Mail.ru Start grant program held jointly by the Skolkovo Foundation’s IT Cluster and Mail.ru Cloud Solutions, an R&D spin-off of Mail.ru Group, one of Russia’s largest IT holding firms, has drawn to a close.

Over the past six months 25 Skolkovo start-ups received $176,000 in grants for use of Mail.ru Cloud Solutions’ advanced cloud infrastructure. Using the infrastructure, they managed to develop and pitch to large corporate customers their innovative solutions.

The Mail.ru Start program is designed to support promising IT projects. The most interesting start-ups that received grants were Mildsoft with its StartExam employee testing system; Intellogic with a medical data analysis platform called Botkin.ai; and K-Sky that has come up with the Webiomed machine learning enhanced system to help physicians make decisions.
