7 Feb '12
Russian Venture Company’s (RVC) new project – the guest incubator StartUp Access – has started working in Boston, MA, USA, RVC reports.

Under the project, on February 6, 2012, 11 teams of starting technological entrepreneurs started their two-week work in the guest incubator in Boston.

The RVC project goal is to help Russian technological startups, aiming to enter global market, establish relations with successful entrepreneurs, representatives of venture funds and R&D centers of one of the leading innovation centers in the world.

The guest incubator Startup Access provides Russian companies with access to the eco-system of one of the leading technological universities in the world – the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The program was created by the MIT graduates. The program is for starting businessmen in high-technology and innovation economy sectors. The program participants will get a unique opportunity to discuss their projects with leading entrepreneurs and investors, as well as agree on further cooperation in business development and investment raising. The program is focused on networking through organizing events for innovation companies and participating in regular events of the Boston entrepreneurial community. In addition, during the program the companies get to use an office in the Center of Innovations in Cambridge, thus becoming active participants of the local entrepreneurial community.

Elena Kadeyking, the managing partner of StartUp Access, said: “A total of 11 teams from various Russian regions take part in the first round visit of StartUp Access. We selected them through the RVC Seed Fund, regional incubators in St. Petersburg, Tomsk, Novosibirsk and others, some teams came after seeing information on our Facebook page. Our requirements to applicants included: the project’s orientation on the global market, fluent English of all team participants, and conformity of the project idea with the team members’ experience. After that the commission of experts, consisting of representatives from RVC and StartUp Access, selected 11 teams, which proved to most investment attractive and ready for communicating with representatives of the international entrepreneurial community at the highest level. This is an important aspect, as we seek to create a positive image of Russian entrepreneurship at the US East coast.”
