26 Sep '11
The first in Russian Active House was opened in Moscow region. Active House is a building of a brand new type with three major components – energy saving, healthy microclimate and eco-friendliness, reports.
The idea of building such houses came from Europe – the first such building was built in Denmark by the company VELUX. The “Active House” not only minimizes energy consumption, but actually is capable of generating it.
As has been mentioned above, Active House includes three components. The energy saving component implies using energy efficient technologies, as well as active use of natural resources and renewable energy sources. The house is to support the healthy microclimate, with big amount of day light and fresh air, automatic system of ventilation and comfort temperature maintenance. Plus to all that is that the building is absolutely harmless to the environment.
The building concept uses high-quality heat insulation and innovation building technologies, which result in four times lower energy consumption. The coefficient of natural illumination is ten times higher than in standard buildings. Heat and hot water are provided by a geothermal heat pump and solar collectors, the building uses hybrid ventilation with heat recuperation, solar batteries and the “smart house” system. The house is equipped with au automated system, measuring and controlling temperature, illumination, the levels of CO2 and humidity.
Construction of the first Active House in Russia was carried out by the firms VELUX and Zagorodny Proekt (Country Project). They are going to provide online all measurements and data of the house monitoring to all interested parties for three months. After that a family is to temporarily move in the building. The family is to share their impressions with the organizers, and the organizers will be able to carry out comprehensive monitoring of the internal micro-climate and energy consumption.
