20 Aug '07
National innovative company New Ecological Projects will develop a feasibility study and a project of the contract for implementation of the project on reconstruction and maintenance of solid domestic waste storage Igumnovo (located in Dzerzhinsk). The contract will be concluded between the Nizhny Novgorod region authorities and the winner of the tender for an investor in this project. This information has come from the local authorities web site.

Between the 3rd and 17th of August Ministry of Investment Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region held a tender to chose a company for development of a feasibility study and a project of the contract. The starting price (the maximum price) offered was 500,000 rubles ($19,425). National innovative company New Ecological Projects offered the total price of the contract of 300,000 rubles ($11,650). The source of financing is the regional budget.

The project is to be developed within 2 months from the date the contract between the local authorities and New Ecological Projects is signed.

Deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Irina Zhivihina says it is very important to create competition in the market of garbage recycling and processing.

In her opinion Igumnovo has been infringing the law on protection of environment for a long time due to the fact that there is no competition in this sector.
