Novosibirsk manufacturing experiencing rapid growth

Data for the first 10 months of 2007 reveal that the rate of growth for the manufacturing sector of the Novosibirsk region is up 9.5% on the previous yearís figures. This is almost 1.5 times higher than figures for Russia as a whole, which the Ministry of Economic Development puts at 6.5%.

The head of the local Department for Entrepreneurial and Industrial Development Sergey Semka reckons that by the year-end this figure could reach 10%.

Spokespersons for the administration pointed out that by industrial growth rate the region currently holds second place in the Siberian economic zone
