1bcm gas storage facility set for Kazan

Gas supplier Gazprom Transgaz Kazan has announced plans to build gas storage facilities capable of storing 1 billion cubic meters of gas in Tatarstan's Alexeevsky district.

The investment amount has not been disclosed but experts put the figure at around $529m.

The firm said the geological preparation part of the project, due for completion in 2010, was currently ongoing.

Gazprom Transgaz Kazan is a subsidiary of Russian gas giant Gazprom.
