Lafarge set to build 4 new cement factories in Russia

16 Apr '08
Construction materials manufacturer Lafarge say that they are set to build four new cement factories in Russia. They estimate that each factory will cost about ?250m.

The French firm will erect the cement works in Kaluga, Rostov-on-Don, Korkino (Chelyabinsk region), and Krasnodar.

The Korkino factory is an interesting case since it will be a thorough overhaul of Ural-Cement's current cement works on the same site. The updating works will increase the production from 1.7m tons to 2.5m tons by 2011.
