Rosneft and Gazprom in for $1.5-2bn Tomskneft deal

Oil company Rosneft is considering selling its stake in Tomsk regional oil firm Tomskneft to another Tomskneft co-owner, oil company Gazprom Neft, Tomsk Vice-Governor Vladimir Yemeshev said today.

A memo of intent has been reportedly inked to close the deal by 2011.

According to newspaper Kommersant, analysts estimate the deals value to be between $1.5bn and $2bn.

Gazprom Neft gives no comments on the news.

Tomskneft is a leading oil firm in Tomsk Region; its 2008 net profit hit $200m.
