Sakhalin eyes two CNG plants

Authorities in Sakhalin region have announced plans to build to mini-plants to produce condensed natural gas (CNG).

Investment in the project has yet to be announced.

The project is carried out under the regional gasification program running till 2020.

The CNG units are reportedly to be installed at two gas-distribution stations in the region’s South, connected to trans-Sakhalin pipeline, built under Sakhalin-2 project.

The gas from the two plants is to be supplied to the region households and petrol stations, officials said.
