Gazprom wants Sakhalin-2 partners to join Sakhalin-3

13 May '09
Gazprom is selecting partners for the Sakhalin-3 oil and gas project and wants to see among them the Sakhalin-2 project participants, Gazprom president Alexei Miller said today.

However, it’s premature to speak of any partnership as there are other companies interested in the project, Mr. Miller added.

Gazprom reportedly owns 50% plus one share of Sakhalin Energy, the Sakhalin-2 international oil and gas project operator. Other participants are British-Dutch Shell (27.5%), and Japan’s Mitsui and Mitsubishi (12.5% and 10%, respectively).

The RF government is considering licensing Gazprom for three Sakhalin-3 oil and gas fields, namely, Kirinskoye, Ayashskoye and East-Odoptu, Mr. Miller said.
