New LNG and gas-chemical plants eyed in Primorsky

12 May '09
RF Prime Minister Vladimir Putin today announced Russia’s second liquefied natural gas (LNG) factory and a gas-chemical complex to be built in Primorsky Region.

Deadlines, an exact location and an investment amount have yet to be announced.

According to the premier, the factories will be processing natural gas supplied from Sakhalin and East Siberian fields.

Russia’s first-ever LNG production with the capacity of 9.6 million tons of products a year was launched in Sakhalin in February 2009. The factory processes gas supplied from the Sakhalin-2 international project.
