Gazprom intends to go on with exploration at the Kirinskoye gas-condensate field in Sakhalin and boost its reserves to 100 billion cu. m, RIA Novosti reports, citing Gazprom vice-president Alexander Ananenkov.
At the moment, the field’s C1+C2 gas reserves are reportedly estimated to be 75 billion cu. m.
The gas holding hasn’t specified when it plans to have the reserves increased.
Gazprom told the media in October 2009 that Kirinskoye gas production might get started earlier than originally planned (in 2011-2012 rather than the initial 2014 deadline).
The Kirinskoye gas-condensate field was discovered in 1992; it is located on the Sakhalin shelf of the Okhotskoye Sea and is now part of the Sakhalin-3 hydrocarbon project.
