Authorities in the Republic of Bashkortostan, in the mid-Volga area, have pooled efforts with regional companies and organizations in the set-up of a local radio electronic cluster, portal I-mash.ru reports.

The new cluster is being established to promote collaboration among regional telecommunications gear makers, radio electronic equipment manufacturers, and microelectronic component developers, according to Bashkortostan’s Ministry of Industry and Innovation Policy.

Now the new cluster participants reportedly include: Ufa Instrument-Making (in the regional capital city of Ufa), Ufa Unit Production, Ufa Molniya Scientific and Production Center, and a number of other regional radio engineering and telecom gear companies including Solitol, Promsvyaz, and Poligon. The Bashkortostan Chamber of Commerce is also part of the alliance.

Local Techno-park Bashkortostan has been appointed to coordinate joint activities for the cluster participants.
