Cherepovets Steel to spend $1.8m on R&D

Vologda region-based Cherepovets Steel has announced plans to spend over $1.8m on R&D projects in 2011, up three times on 2010 expenses.

Under plans, about one-third of the planned amount is to be invested into creation of new products.

The plant also plans to continue working with leading scientific centers in the sector on further development of production of highest-category cold-rolled and hot-dip-galvanized steel, two-layer steel with higher exploitation security, rolled iron for one-coat enameling.

Cherepovets Steel is a part of Severstal group.
