Nizhny Novgorod region-based chemical plant Korund intends to invest $135m building a complex to produce cyanide salts in the region, regional officials report.

The complex is reportedly to be located at premises of the existing plant in Nizhny Novgorod’s satellite city of Dzerzhinsk.

The complex’s projected annual capacity is 40,000 tons of salts.

Production is scheduled to be launched in the Fall of 2011.

Dry cyanide salts are used as chemical reactors in metal surface treatment.
