ChEMK to make $176m eco-investment by 2016

The Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Factory (ChEMK) intends to invest $176m in environment-protection projects by 2016, Interfax reports.

Under plans, $32m is to be spent on construction of the gas treatment complex 2, scheduled to be commissioned in late 2011 or 2012.

The plant is reportedly also to invest $72m on construction of a complex to process slag dump, $14m on air separators in the slag separation house, $45m on dust briquetting site, $13m on air treatment machine at workplaces.
