Sibir announces $402m Novosibirsk cement plant

Novosibirsk industrial company Sibir has announced $402m plans to set up a cement plant in Novosibirsk region, regional
officials reported today.

Under plans, the plant is to be built at the site of the Osinovsky deposit in the regions Toguchinsky district, which holds
estimated reserves of 70 million tons of limestone and schist.

Projected annual capacity at the plant is 1.3 million tons of cement.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2009 and last three years.
