30 Sep '08
Sibirsky Cement has announced plans to build a $874m cement factory in Kemerovo.

The factory's projected capacity is 2.6 million tons of cement a year, which can be later augmented to 3.1 million tons.

It will be located by the Yashkinsky deposit with limestone reserves of 213.15 million tons and 47.14 million tons of clay.

KHD Gumboldt Wedag, a German firm, has won a tender to supply the new plant with equipment.

Sibirskiy Cement's VP Sergey Filenko said KHD had been selected at a tender held for five foreign manufacturers, but did not disclose the value of the deal.
