8 Feb '13
Belgorod regional companies have ensured a seven-time increase in sales of nanotech products over the past four years, regional portal Mediatron.ru reports citing a source at the regional Department for Economic Development.

The Department found that in nine months of last year nanotech product sales reached $6.7m, up nearly 10% y/y.

Emphasizing an upward trend, the Department also said that in the entire 2011, Belgorod regional companies sold $8.7m worth of nanotech products, a 4.4-time increase from 2010 and a 6.8-time boost from 2009.

The regional government body underscored another positive trend, too. In 2011, there were only three companies in the Belgorod region manufacturing nanotech-based products; in 2012, two more companies entered the sector.
