Nizhny Novgorod students to receive training at global industrial majors

ICANN—the International Community Association of Nizhny Novgorod, a nonprofit for expat business professionals in the region—agreed earlier this month with the managements of Nizhny’s two leading universities to offer regional students an on-the-job training program at global industrial majors represented at ICANN. The Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN), one of the parties in the agreement, reported the news on its website.
The other signatory representing local academia was the Alexeyev State Technical University of Nizhny Novgorod (TUNN).
The partners have pooled their efforts in what’s become known as the MOST project (the Russian abbreviation for “International Education of Students”). The project reportedly features such major international manufacturers as Bosal-GAZ, Mercedes-Benz Russia, Daido Metal Russia, Danieli Volga, Lear Corporation, and others that have joined the initiative.
The program calls for an inaugural group of about 130 students from Nizhny Novgorod to enter the training activity in September 2014 already. Managers and specialists from 13 global majors are expected to act as coaches and mentors. The four-month session will give the students training completion certificates and a longer-term on-the-job opportunity.
