Skolkovo and Cisco I-PRIZE announce innovation contest

Cisco I-PRIZE and Russia’s Skolkovo Foundation have announced a contest for best innovative ideas. Eligible for participation are entrepreneurs, scientists, students and technical specialists—all Russian nationals living in Russia.

There will be three nominations to apply for:
- Information technologies;
- Use of technologies in energy saving;
- Use of technologies in healthcare.

The jury will evaluate applications according to the following criteria: market potential, authenticity and creative approach, Russian and international market viability, and long-term sustainability. Individuals and teams submitting 24 most interesting ideas will be invited within the last two months of the contest to take part in the semifinal.

The Top-3 ideas will be announced on April 21, 2011. The winners will receive the following prize money as starting capital for their projects:
- $100k first prize;
- $50k second prize;
- $25k third prize.

Applications will be collected between December 6, 2010 and February 15, 2011.
