One of the world’s largest innovation Internet project competitions, Web Ready 2010, is nearing completion. St. Petersburg will host its final on December 2; winners will be pronounced in the Best Start-Up and Best Seed Project nominations.
The Web Ready competition was originally designed to seek, hand-pick and help develop most interesting ideas and promising web-projects. Its final will provide a venue for negotiations between leading Internet start-ups and business angel/VC investors; deals are expected to be inked.
The event will reportedly feature VC investors from St. Petersburg and Moscow, business angels, 36 prominent members of the jury and a panel of experts representing VC funds and IT companies, as well as ST. Pete city officials. A reported 80 cities and ten countries are expected to participate.
During the final 30 semifinalists and 12 finalists will present their projects to investors and other stakeholders. The audience will be able to vote for their favorites in the On-Line Voting Award nomination.
The final stage will kick off at 10 a.m. on December 2, 2010 at 5, Lodeinopolskaya St., PetroCongress business center, St. Petersburg.

at 7/9 Universitetskaya Naberezhnaya (Embankment; access from Mendeleevskaya Liniya), assembly hall. More than 400 students of St. Pete’s technical universities are expected to meet the media and members of the business community. A keynote speaker is Sergei Belousov, Parallels chairman and executive director and a venture partner of Almaz Capital Partners.
