Italy’s Idromeccanica Lucchini has completed construction of a greenhouse complex with the capacity of 500 tons per hectare of products in Kabardino-Balkaria, RIA Novosti reported today.
The value of the project contract inked between local authorities and the Italian firm in January 2008 reportedly was $29.4m.
Local company Agrokom and Sberbank acted as project investors, the report said.
Payback for this project is reportedly five years of the launch of the complex.
The 10-hectare greenhouses utilize earthless tomato-growing technology and use minimum chemical fertilizers, the report said.
