Agricultural company Sitno intends to launch a business-incubator to support agricultural projects at the poultry complex, currently under construction in Chelyabinsk region’s Nagaybaksky distirct, news agency reports citing regional authorities.
Under plans, the broiler houses are to be rented out to villagers, entrepreneurs and farmers who want to start their own businesses.
In the future the tenants are to become the owners of the poultry and broiler houses. They will be able to get chickens for fattening and after that sell grown products for further processing. This will give the villagers the chance to obtain knowledge and experience, as well as economic skills for managing their own businesses. That’s how the project initiator Sitno decided to realize a model of the socially responsible business.
Ivan Fyoklin, the Minister of Agriculture of Chelyabinsk region, underlined that thanks to such investment projects in the future production of poultry meat in the region is expected to grow from 175,000 to 300,000 tons annually. The new firms are to provide feed grain to villagers, forming a significant economic reserve for village development.
To date, $53.5m was spent on construction of a poultry complex in the Nagaybaksky district. Total investment in the project is estimated at over $178m. Of the total funding, about $35.6m is to be invested by Sitno, and the rest is to be raised in loans, secured against regional budget guarantees. The new complex is expected to create 1,200 local jobs.
The investor has brought in equipment and started construction of three production complexes. Under the project, the poultry farm is to consist of eight complexes in separate villages.
