Orenburg-based energy supplier Orenburgenergo is to pump over $13m into overhauling grid facilities in the region ahead of another heating season.
Heating seasons refer to the period of the year in most of Russia when energy firms switch on apartment blocks' in-built heaters. They normally run from September or October to April, with some regional variation.
The firm said $2.5m of the package would go towards grid facilities in Orenburg city.
Under plans, by the end of the year 48 transformer substations and 90km of power lines are to be repaired or replaced.
Orenburgenergo is a branch of Volga Interregional Distribution Grid Company.
