MRSK Volga landed with $3.7m fine

1 Jul '08
Energy supplier MRSK Volga has been hit with a $3.7m fine for breaching competition laws.

The Orenburg office of Russia's Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (OFAS) levied the fine after complaints from another power supplier, Orenburgkommunelektroset.

The charge related to MRSK Volga subsidiary Orenburgenergos refusal to enter into an agreement regarding technological connection to the local grid.
