Atomenergoproject to build $4.8bn Rostov nuclear

Nizhny Novgorod engineering company Atomenergoproject has been announced a winner of an open tender, held by state-run Energoatom, to select a contractor for a $4.8bn project to build the third and fourth energy blocks at Rostov nuclear power station, news agency RIA Novosti reports.

Under the project, the company is to build two 1,000 MW energy blocks in separate buildings.

Since June 2007 Atomenergoproject was the general contractor to build the Rostov station’s second energy block.

Timeframes for the project have yet to be announced.
