Energy company MES East has begun construction of the new building of 220kV Tynda substation in Amur Region, the firm said today.
The building is built under complex reconstruction of the substation.
Investment in reconstruction is to top $66m, the firm said.
The project will reportedly improve electricity supply to consumers in the town of Tynda and its surroundings, and enhance electric-powered rail transportation on the Baikal-Amur Railroad (BAM) at a section between the border with Chita (Transbaikal) Region and Khabarovsk Region’s Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
MES East is part of federal grid company FSK UES.
